A Sanctuary by the River
Recurring gatherings for women

A THRESHOLD OF SAMHAIN

A nod to the ancestors & the shifting season

An intimate evening gathering for women in the Perthshire countryside.

Thursday 22 October · 6–9pm · £50 · 10 places

As the light disappears earlier, the leaves fall and the natural world begins its descent towards winter, I invite you to gather with me in a cosy sanctuary by the river.

A Sanctuary by the River is a new series of recurring gatherings for women, held in our home surrounded by nature, just 20 minutes outside Perth.

A place to bring a little magic into ordinary life. For ritual, rest and reset. For creativity and play. For conversations that go a little deeper. For being seen, nourished and connected with ourselves and with other women.

Each gathering will be different, moving with the seasons and exploring different themes through circle, Authentic Relating, creativity, reflection, ritual, time in nature, sauna and sound journeys.

My hope is that, over time, a community grows around these evenings: women who return, get to know one another beyond the surface, and make space in their lives to gather.

You don't need to know anyone before coming. You don't need to be “creative”, particularly spiritual, or experienced in any of these practices.

Just arrive with curiosity and openness.

OUR FIRST GATHERING

We meet close to Samhain, at the mystical threshold between autumn and winter, light and darkness, what has been and what is still to come.

Our theme for the evening is what we release and who we come from.

We'll begin outside with a walk towards the river, setting an intention and paying attention to what draws us in the landscape, before returning to the warmth of the sanctuary.

From there, we'll move through circle, tarot, gentle Authentic Relating, reflection and creative practice, making space for what we're ready to let go of, while also turning towards the women who came before us: mothers, grandmothers, ancestors, chosen ancestors, teachers and others whose lives have somehow made their way into ours.

There will be fire and candlelight. Space for words and space for silence.

And as the evening gets darker, we'll finish lying down together, wrapped in blankets, with a deeply restful sound journey by candlelight.

A chance to stop doing for a moment. To receive. To rest.

YOU'LL BE NOURISHED, TOO

I don't want you rushing home from work trying to squeeze dinner in before coming here.

A hot homemade cheese toastie, brownie and cup of tea will welcome you when you arrive, with homemade treats and a varied selection of teas available throughout the evening to keep us warm and nourished.

For the practices, please bring a yoga mat, blanket, journal and water bottle.

About your facilitator

I am a ritual artist and facilitator who believes in the creative power of ritual as a portal for both healing and transformation. I hold circles where grief and joy are welcomed equally, spaces that echo our ancestral ways of gathering, where we can honour what has been lost, celebrate what is alive and empower each other through playfulness and creative expression.

My work is guided by a deep connection with nature and its cycles, drawing inspiration from the turning seasons and the wisdom of the living world.

For me, art, whether through ritual, or in museums, libraries, and galleries is a portal: a threshold into other worlds, new perspectives, and deeper layers of ourselves. At the heart of my practice is a longing to nurture places of safety, weave community, awaken imagination and help us remember our shared belonging to each other and to the Earth.
