IMMERSIVE PERFORMATIVE
WEEKEND EXPERIENCE
There are whispers from the heart of the forest, where stories stir in the soil and something ancient begins to wake. CERNUNNOS calls gently now - an invitation to slow down, root in, and remember. What truths might you uncover as you move barefoot through myth and movement, held by the land and a circle of fellow travellers?
PORTAL: CERNUNNOS is a weekend immersive retreat - a co-created journey through storytelling, ecstatic dance, ritual theatre, and music. Together, we’ll explore an ancient myth from the Celtic tradition, using our bodies and voices to step into a shared narrative that unfolds over the course of the weekend.
This is a space of curiosity and courage. You may encounter parts of yourself that have been forgotten or waiting to be seen. But you won’t do it alone—this journey is held in deep care and community, with experienced facilitators guiding each step.
Expect a blend of ritual, folklore, performance, embodiment, and sound, all crafted to invite you into connection - with nature, with story, and with something wilder within. Whether you come for the movement, the myth, or the magic, you’ll be part of something truly unique.
PORTAL: CERNUNNOS sits somewhere between a live art installation, a mini festival, and a ritual gathering—shaped not just by us, but by you too. Every participant plays a role in the unfolding experience. Are you ready to enter the story?

A: The event is about 2 hours from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and we’ll help coordinate lift-shares through a shared group chat for all ticket holders.
We’ve booked a venue called The Big Shed, which is fully equipped with:
Indoor hall space
Toilets and hot showers
A kitchen serving two hot meals per day plus snacks
Sleeping is mostly outdoors in tents or vans on the grass, but there is indoor sleeping available (on mats in a cozy shared space) if needed.
We'll also journey to a nearby forest clearing by the lake, where we’ll set up a tipi with a wood burner, and there will be a sauna available for warming and relaxing.
Before the event, we’ll host a group video call to meet each other and share intentions. You’ll also receive a care package and questionnaire to help you tune into your personal journey.

A: It may feel unique in structure, but the core of the experience is very human and familiar.
We’ll be working with a mythic narrative, rooted in ancient Celtic stories and ancestral memory. Through that lens, we’ll guide you into playful, grounded, and nourishing practices that connect you to:
Your own body and inner world
Nature and land
Other participants
And the mystery and celebration of life
-
A: This is not a religious or dogmatic event. You don’t need to believe in anything specific.
We use words like “ritual” and “ceremony” as gentle containers for playful, creative, and meaningful experiences.
You’re invited to take part in whatever way feels aligned with you—and skip what doesn’t.At its heart, PORTAL is about creative expression, connection to the land, and noticing the magic of the everyday.
-
A: These are just ways of marking transitions—beginnings, middles, and ends. They create a structure for shared storytelling.
Rituals at PORTAL are often playful and open-ended. They’re there to enhance your experience—not to impose meaning.
You can engage with them however you wish, or interpret them through your own lens. -
A: Inclusivity and safety are central to everything we do. We’ve hosted 11+ events, and we’ve seen people from all ages, backgrounds, and identities come together in trust.
We value emotional intelligence, consent, care, and mutual support. If at any point you feel vulnerable, we (Sam and Egle) and our crew are here to support you.
Ultimately, we’re not creating a top-down structure—we’re practicing community care, where we all hold each other.
-
A: Music is one of the pillars of PORTAL. We’ll have:
A high-quality sound system
Deep, earthy bass
Primal drums, rhythmic percussion
Uplifting, playful grooves
And a gentle, grounding sound journey on Sunday
We think of it as a kind of sonic storytelling—like a mythic opera in the forest.

CREATORS
We are Egle and Sam, the duo behind PORTAL — an immersive, conscious club experience.
Inspired by our journeys through the world of dance music, we’re deeply curious about how our ancestors connected with the Earth and its natural cycles through communal, sacred dance ceremonies.
We will be co-creating this experience with a small group of our friends, all of us filling the multiple roles of artist, actor, technician, facilitator. Your unique presence is essential, we cannot make this a truly immersive experience without your participation. We invite you to arrive with an open heart and a willingness to co-create a multidisciplinary art experience that reconnects us with the wild.
PORTAL is open to people from all walks of life. While we hold no political or religious affiliations, we are guided by a deep spiritual reverence for nature’s divinity.

“Welcoming, accepting spaces like these are so important for healing, for helping us seeing the depths of our conditioning among like-minded souls, buried in the fractal labyrinth that continually unfolds in front of us as we explore.
Thank you so much for co-creating this. I've spent a lot of my life having few safe spaces to allow me to engage with these issues in a healthy way. Your events consistently give us all a place to do this. 🙏❤️🙏“
